About the Event

Tuesday Salsa Nights · The Grand Hall, 201–45939 Thunderbird Lane, Chilliwack, BC — in District 1881

Tuesday Salsa Nights is built for complete beginners who want to dive into Latin dance — no experience and no partner needed. We start with merengue, the simplest step in Latin dance: one beat per foot, no counting, so your feet go on autopilot within minutes and you can focus on the fun stuff — turns, connection, and lead-and-follow. Halfway through, we blend into salsa, building on everything you just learned.

It's a relaxed, social night. I rotate everyone through partners every few minutes, so by the end you've danced with just about the whole room — which makes it one of the easiest ways in Chilliwack to get to know people and meet someone new. Come on your own or bring a partner; both are completely normal.

The series launched on July 28, 2026 and drew around 80 people — well past the room's teaching capacity. The room is therefore capped at 65, and advance registration is the reliable way in. Read the launch-night recap, with photos from the first night →

Classes & Courses

Alongside the Tuesday social, BC Latin Dance runs a four-week Level 1 salsa course in August, opened in response to launch-night demand. It runs Thursday evenings in Chilliwack, starts from zero, and is capped at 16 people so everyone gets hands-on correction.

It works out to $20 a lesson either way — the four-week pass isn't a discount, it holds a place for the whole course, so nobody who wants to try a single class first pays a penalty for it.

Share the Night

Sharing is the single most useful thing anyone can do for this night — one share from a local page reaches more Chilliwack people than anything we can buy. There are two ways to do it: share our post directly, or copy one of the posts below and put it up in your own words. Both are equally welcome.

About Salsa Paul

Salsa Paul

Paul Preibisch — known on the dance floor as Salsa Paul — has been dancing for over 20 years. He first fell in love with Latin dance in South Korea and went on to perform in Korea, Japan, and the Philippines.

For five years he taught salsa in La Ventana, Baja California Sur, Mexico, building a thriving beachside dance community. Now based in Chilliwack, BC, he's bringing that same warmth and energy to the Fraser Valley — starting with weekly Latin dance nights at The Grand Hall.
